Known for their cleaver inventions and their engineering skills the Gnomes are one of the most peculiar races in the World of Warcraft. Living together with the Dwarves in Dun Morogh the Gnomes have built the strange techno-city of Gnomeregan. Even though the Dwarves know their technology well, it’s the Gnomes that provide them with the critical and visionary designs for most of the Dwarves’ weapons and steam vehicles.

The Gnomes fought bravely with the alliance during the second war but for some reason they refused to send anyone to aid the Dwarves and Humans during the invasion of the Burning Legion.

However, later it was discovered that an ancient barbaric menace had risen from bowels of the earth and defeated Gnomeregan. Nearly half of the gnomish race was wiped out during the invasion but the rest managed to save themselves within the safety of the Dwarven city of Ironforge. Inside Ironforge the Gnomes built the Tinker Town ruled by the king of the Gnomes, High Tinker Mekkatorque.

The Human race is a strong one that easily gets up after a defeat, surviving the first war with the invasion of the Orcs and retaking the lands of Azeroth once again in the second. After the recent invasion of the Burning Legion the Humans formed an alliance together with the Night Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes.

This mysterious race - Night Elf - were the first ones to awaken in the World of Warcraft. Also being the first to study magic the Night Elves’ reckless use of magic drew the Burning Legion into the world which led to a war between the two races. At last the Night Elves managed to drive the Burning Legion back to their world. The Night Elves sworn to never use magic again in fear of that the Legion would return. The Night Elves remained hidden on the top of Mount Hyjal for many thousand of years.

They are very close to nature and have many friends among the races of their homelands. The Night Elves joined the alliance after the third war because the World Tree was heavily damaged after the third war.
